Compatibility with the security update addressing Spectre and Meltdown vulnerabilities
Dear users!
In early 2018, hardware vulnerabilities Meltdown (CVE-2017-5753 and CVE-2017-5715) and Spectre (CVE-2017-5754) were disclosed in most modern processors. These vulnerabilities can be used to steal user data.
On 3 January 2018, Microsoft released a security update addressing the Spectre and Meltdown vulnerabilities.
We have conducted comprehensive testing and, based on the results, we confirm full compatibility of NANO Antivirus / NANO Antivirus Pro with the January Windows security updates that close these vulnerabilities. These security updates will be installed automatically by the operating system only if a “compatibility flag” is present.
We are currently working on an updated version of NANO Antivirus / NANO Antivirus Pro that will automatically set the “compatibility flag” (follow news on the website/forum), but if you want the updates right now, you can set this flag manually. More details on setting the flag on the Microsoft website: https://support.microsoft.com/ru-ru/help/4072699/january-3-2018-windows-security-updates-and-antivirus-software.
